It’s a well-established fact that Charles Meade (Gale Harold) is the president of Chance Harbor’s Lonely Hearts Club. Basically, he’s Dawson Leery 20 years later.

Charles was married back in the day, but his wife was killed in the fiery boat massacre sixteen years ago, and he’s been holding a torch for Dawn (Natasha Henstridge) ever since. She’s the only semblance of a girlfriend Charles has had, and so far their relationship has consisted of a few bottles of wine, a pet rock, and one wet, slobbery kiss that made millions of pre-teens nauseous.

Sadly, Dawn is the only middle-aged hottie in Chance Harbor (all the other ones are dead, obvs). Is there any hope for Charles finding a new lady-friend, or will he have to start dating teenagers?

The CW is standing behind its freshman series.

After news broke Wednesday that Ringer would be sticking around for a full season, the network has also ordered full seasons of The Secret Circle and Hart of Dixie.

CW gives Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Ringer a full season

“We believe in the creative strength of these dramas, and by giving them back nine orders we can give our audience the chance to enjoy complete seasons of all three of them,” The CW’s President, Mark Pedowitz, said in a statement. “With compelling story lines, engaging characters and tremendous buzz, we firmly believe that Hart of Dixie, Ringer and The Secret Circle can become signature series for The CW, the kind of top-notch shows that are synonymous with our brand.”

The Secret Circle, from Vampire Diaries executive producer Kevin Williamson, has served as a strong companion for the three-year-old vampire drama. The show premiered to 3.05 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in the adults 18-49 demo. Last week’s episode bewitched 1.96 million.

Hart of Dixie, from Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz and starring O.C. alum Rachel Bilson, debuted to a smaller 1.88 million viewers and 0.7 rating in the demo following Gossip Girl. Monday’s episode grabbed 1.57 million.
